My Yesterday
So I get up and go to work alone since the boy got to work from home. I fall asleep on the train. I was so deeply asleep that some kind person getting off the train paused to shake me awake. The train was nearly empty at that point.
I get into work have a bit to do but mostly it’s so slow here that there isn’t a whole lot to do so I mostly screwed around looking for the Anderson Cooper Commercial as well as the ESPN Star Wars Commercial.
Then, Supervisor Girl leaves early cuz she’s sick. So I am able to take off 5 minutes early and catch the early train home….the early train that got me home AFTER the usual train because of some lame “freight train interference”. Someone PLEASE tell me WHY freight trains are allowed to be anywhere NEAR the commuter trains to be ableto CAUSE interference?! Frickin’ piss me off. Yeah, I’m on the train that’s sitting still and I see my USUAL TRAIN PASS ME. Yup they got in ON TIME…while I had to sit and wait….piece of CRAP!
So I get home and everyone and their brother is at my house…so I can’t sit on my couch at all….No one bothered to even TRY to make food…so I make a pizza…people leave and we eat the pizza I get to play some House of the Dead 3 on the X-Box. Then when I’m finally ready to get into the bed…I pause in the bathroom to discover the Puke Machine has struck again all over the bathroom counter….and it’s been there ALL DAY LONG…so now before I go to bed I’ve got to scrub the bathroom counter AND THE FLOOR (cuz yeah, she couldn’t keep that on JUST the counter…no no no…had to go onto the floor too!) So I’m all pissy about this the boy is asking me questions and I’m just so annoyed and tired that I’m snarking at him and he’s like, “don’t yell at me.” and all I could say was “I’m not yelling, you’ll KNOW when I’m yelling…”
So today… I am unable now to sleep on the train…I kept popping back up each time I’d slip…but I was falling asleep in the dentist office waiting room…and if the dentist would have stopped poking around in my mouth, I would have fallen asleep in her chair… I get to work and discover Supervisor Girl is still sick. The prospect of leaving early again looms over head…do I try again with the early train or cut my losses and stick with the regular one?
