Last Post of the Year
So I had this great post going on in my head. It was amusing and meaningful and smart. But it’s gone. I fell asleep last night, didn’t write any of it down and yeah, nothing is there…. all gone.
I hate when that happens.
I’m not sorry to see 2008 go. There was a lot of crap this year. Hopefully 2009 will be less crap. But for all the crap there was as much good. We all have a tendency to focus on the crap. And when things are good we fail to realize and appreciate just how good things are. We don’t seem to treasure the good times while they are happening. It takes some real crap to make us see the good, and then we’re focusing on the crap again and how it ruined everything.
So… I’m going to focus on the good stuff today, and get the crap out. First, by taking out the garbage, and then cleaning the cat box…. I’m going to start the new year with a fresh clean house. I’ve emptied the science projects out of my refrigerator (ewww!!) and I’m finishing up the dishes. Then I will swiffer and vacuum, etc. Get all the crap off the table and the ottoman and the couch, prepare my home for a fresh new year.
