Did you READ my resume?
I got a call the other day….
“My boss saw your resume and would like to set up a time for you to come in.”
“Uh, what company did you say you were from?”
“American Income and Life”
“And what’s the position?”
She went on to describe some kind of job where I’d meet with union workers and discuss their benefits. At least, that’s what it SOUNDED like.
“Did you READ my resume? I’m a media buyer. I place advertising in newspapers, on the radio, on the TV. I’m in advertising, not HR.”
“So you don’t WANT the position?”
“Well, that’s not my field, I’m not qualified.”
Then she hung up on me.
Good thing too, once she was gone I did a Google search on the phone number that called me. Turns out American Income and Life is a pyramid scheme and a total scam. They didn’t read my resume…they don’t care what my background is. I did NOT give permission to call me for some scam. I only want calls about REAL jobs. Jerkfaces! Keep that in mind if you’ve got a searchable resume on any of the websites. If someone contacts you about selling insurance, tell them no thanks. Unless of course you want to be an insurance salesman, but keep in mind, American Income and Life is not a place you want to work at.
