VOTE!
Please go out and vote today because I can’t. We moved two days before the deadline to register to be able to vote in today’s election. TWO DAYS BEFORE! That does not give one time enough to receive any kind of anything proving you live where you say you live in order to register to vote. I suppose I could go back to the old house and vote there, but that just feels wrong. So those of you who can vote, please do so and then do it again for me!
In recent days I’ve taken to talking back to my TV during every single campaign ad. The conversation goes something like this…
TV: She voted against the tax cuts
Me: That’s because she HATES US!
TV: She voted against protecting Social Security
Me: That’s because she hates ALL OLD PEOPLE!
TV: She voted against border patrols
Me: That’s because she’s an ALIEN from SPAYCE!
TV: Vote for Blah-dee-blah
Me: I WILL! Because he’s not an alien who hates everyone in Illinois!
I can’t wait until all these ads get off my television. I’m really very bored with all of them. They quote that this paper hates a specific candidate, but in that candidate’s ad, they claim that they’re endorsed by the very same paper the other guy said didn’t like them. Then there’s this one guy…his ad amuses me to no end…cuz he’s got this impressive list of newspapers endorsing him, but when you look at all of them, you need to realize that they’re all owned by the same company. This guy is endorsed by the Chicago Sun-Times, Pioneer Press, Naperville Sun, Waukegan News-Sun, Joliet Herald-News, Eglin Courier-News, and the Aurora Beacon-News. That’s like the entire Sun-Times network of newspapers. He’s just missing the Daily Southtown and Star from that list. If he at least had one paper not owned by the Sun-Times, I’d be impressed.
Go Vote!
